Hello everyone...updates are down below!My doggie Banjo is in need of help. Almost two years ago he suffered from a spinal injury which left his back legs weakened. He got better for a while, but this morning I found him unable to stand again. His spine is acting up again, and the vet told me earlier that if he doesn't recover in 24-48 hours with steroid treatments, then he has to have surgery. I cannot afford the surgery, as it's over $6,000 and I've barely a fraction of that. I've started a fundraiser and need your help to spread the word, and possibly donate if you can. If he doesn't get the surgery, I might have to euthanize him. I don't want to lose him...he's my baby.

SO MANY PEOPLE! We have SO many wonderful people offering incentives for donations!! The list is getting bigger every day~~! But first, I'd like to share an idea with you all. We've raised quite a bit of money so far, but it's not nearly enough. The donations have slowed down and I feel like I've currently exhausted my resources. But this needs to keep going strong and so I've thought of a way to get Banjo's story out there.
I want one of his photos to become a Daily Deviation. The 24 hour feature on the main page would be a HUGE blessing as it would get a lot of views and traffic. I know DDs are normally exceptional work, but once in a while they post something of importance up there. My photography isn't the best, but this is for a great cause, so I'm hoping they would consider featuring one of my deviations of him. I've put the fundraiser information in the artist comments in all his pictures. But I need YOUR help for this though!
To suggest a Daily Deviation, (full FAQ help here: FAQ #18: Who selects the Daily Deviations and how is it chosen?) you must note the staff member(s) in charge of the particular gallery the deviation falls under. In this case, since Banjo's photos are in the "Photography: Animals, Plants & Nature", you would have to note either actonephotos or shuttermonkey with my username, a link to the deviation (or the thumb code for premium members) and why you think it should become a Daily Deviation. Be brief, but drive it home as to why Banjo needs help! Please note that you may only suggest to ONE of these staff members. Not both. Also subject it as "DD Suggestion" or something so they know.
I'm hoping that if enough people suggest one of his photos, he'll get featured and receive more help and donations. I think that this photo:
would work well, but really you may choose whichever you want to suggest. Hell, suggest all three and let the staff member pick if he/she is considering it.
And if you're familiar with Daily Deviations, you'll know that a lot of hate goes on in the comments, but don't worry, I'm prepared for whatever is said if it does become a DD. It's for my baby...I can handle anything for him.
If you're upset because you can't donate but still want to help, think of this as the ultimate way to help. If you do decide to suggest him as a DD, remember to be respectful towards the staff member!

Here's how it works:
If you spread the word of Banjo's fundraiser via journal, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, etc., she'll write you a bitty fiction! You must take a screenshot and note her it as proof that you helped spread the word.
If you donate and note her proof by taking a screenshot before the donation and then after to show you truly donated, she will doodle something for you!
If you donate $20, she'll write you an FFVII based TFLN (A short drabble based on the texts from the website "Texts From last Night" with Final Fantasy VII characters. They're always super funny!)
If you donate $50, she will write you an FFVII based fan-fic and draw you a doodle to go along with it.
Remember if you donate, you must put your username or your real name to show that it was really you that donated. I think the site sends you a confirmation e-mail after you donate as well, so that might suffice as proof if you take a screenshot of that and show it to her, if you want to remain anonymous for the donation page. You'll have to ask her if that's okay if you're uncomfortable using your name.

Second Update on 02-28-12:
I finally got to bring Banjo home. His back legs are still paralyzed and he can't urinate. He's comfortable on his bed in a confined area for now, but I don't know how long he can last like this. I do not want to put him down for something like this. His mind is healthy and happy, so it would be senseless to euthanize him just because his legs don't work. What if we did that to humans? I know I'd certainly be dead by now with all my spinal and health problems.
He needs this surgery, and I cannot do it without your help. We've been so fortunate to have several celebrities retweet the donation link on Twitter, and we even got a plug in a local radio station thanks to 
, but it's still not enough. Please continue to spread the word, and possibly donate if you can. Any little amount helps. Banjo is too precious to lose. I wish each and every one of you could meet him. He is so sweet and funny that he can make anyone smile…you'd love him. Even my friend who doesn't like dogs loves him and is supporting him. People at the dog park and in pet stores fall in love with him, tenants in my old apartment complex were just absolutely smitten with him…and I love him with all my heart. Truly every ounce of my heart belongs to this dog. We are so much alike and have been through too much together for me to say goodbye right now.
